Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Eat2Live (the "Service", a mobile app for iOS and Android) collects, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

Only what the Service needs to function:

• Account: your email address and password (stored as an irreversible hash via our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your plaintext password).
• Food, weight, and fasting logs: the foods and recipes you create or log, the calorie/macro/micronutrient values attached to them, your daily food entries, your weight check-ins, and your fasting session history. This is the core of what the Service does, and it is private to your account — no one else can read it.
• Goals and preferences: your calorie and macro/micronutrient goals, goal preset, weight unit, reminder time, display name, and timezone.
• Barcode scans: if you scan a food's barcode, the camera is used live on your device to read the barcode number, which is sent to Open Food Facts (a public, community-run food database) to look up nutrition info. We don't take or store a photo — only the barcode number is sent, and it isn't linked to your account by Open Food Facts.
• Food search: text you type to search for a food is sent to the USDA FoodData Central API to find matching results. No account or personal information is sent with it.
• Subscription status: whether your account is ad-free, and which service (e.g. our payment processor) granted that status, so ad-free applies correctly across our apps.

We don't collect your location, contacts, or photos, and the Service doesn't use any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. A "From the same team" panel links out to our sister app's website; it isn't an ad network and doesn't track you.

How we use it

To run the Service: authenticate you, show you your own food/weight/fasting history, look up nutrition info for foods you search or scan, apply your ad-free status if you have one, and schedule the local reminder notifications you turn on (these are scheduled entirely on your own device — we don't send push notifications from a server).

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. It's shared only with the service providers that make the Service work — Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central API (food lookups, sent without your account info attached), and RevenueCat (subscription/entitlement processing, if you subscribe) — strictly to provide the Service, not for their own marketing.

Your controls

You can change your password and goals, and permanently delete your account and all its data, at any time from Settings. See deleting your account for the exact steps. Deleting removes your food logs, weight logs, fasting history, custom foods and recipes, and profile — it cannot be undone.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your data is removed as described above.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
